Stocks to buy today: List of 20 stocks from cash, F&O segments for profitable trade on December 23

The domestic equity markets on Wednesday closed 1 per cent higher amid mixed global cues. Headline indices Nifty50 and the Sensex ended with gains of 184.60 points or 1.1% to 16,955.45 and with 611.55 at 56,930.56 respectively. The recovery was led by auto, metal and financial shares as 42 shares advanced on the Nifty index, while 27 ended in the green on the 30-share Sensex. IT shares declined the most on Thursday.

On Thursday, Asian markets were off to a cautious start as the indices traded mixed with minor gains or some decline this morning. Japanese Nikkei 225 was trading with 0.39% gain, while Shanghai Composite and Hang Seng Index declined by 0.10% and 0.28% respectively. 

The Wall Street had one more closing in the green as all major indices settled higher on Wednesday's closing. Dow Jones added 0.74%, Nasdaq Composite closed 1.18%, S&P 500 settled after gaining 1.02% and Russel 2000 too surged 0.86% in yesterday's closing.
