Stocks to buy today: List of 20 shares for profitable trade on December 15

The Indian markets closed negative for the second day consecutive day amid omicron virus scare and weak global cues. Headline indices Nifty50 and the Sensex ended 0.25% and 0.29% lower in Tuesday's closing. Financial & banking shares, auto, telecom and FMCG stocks dragged the market the most, while pharma shares surged on Tuesday.

The 12-share Bank Nifty closed flat short of 37,000-mark, while Nifty midcap index declined 0.42% and small cap gained 0.22% as VIX showed 2.30% change in the index.  

Meanwhile, in the Asian markets, the indices were trading mixed this morning. Japanese Nikkei 225 was up 0.13%, Hang Seng Index at the Hong Kong Exchange was also trading marginally higher by 0.09%, while Shanghai Composite Index started 0.18% lower in the early trade on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, major Wall Street indices closed weak for another session on Tuesday. Dow Jones ended 107 points or 0.30% lower, Nasdaq Composite closed 176 points or 1.14% down and S&P 500 slipped by 0.75% or 35 points.
