Stocks to buy today: List of 20 stocks for profitable trade on April 18

The Indian market closed in the red on Wednesday amid q4 earnings season and weak global cues. Benchmarks Nifty50 and the Sensex closed 0.31% and 0.41% lower. The Nifty50 dropped more than 50 points to slip below 17,500, while the Sensex declined nearly 250 points to settle around 58,300. Among the sectors, FMCG, metal, oil & gas, pharma and healthcare ended in positive and other sectors largely closed on a negative note in a weak market.  

Meanwhile, Asian markets were trading negative on Monday morning. Japanese Nikkei 225 was trading lower by more than 1.75%, Chinese Shanghai Composite declined over 1%, while SGX Nifty Futures dropped nearly 50 points on the Singaporean exchange in the early trade on Monday.

Earlier, the US markets ended deep in red on Friday as all major indices closed lower. Benchmarks Dow Jones declined 0.3%, Nasdaq Composite closed 2.14% and S&P 500 dropped 1.21%.
