Stocks in News Today, November 17: Stock markets are likely to have a negative start on Thursday i.e. November 17 as SXG Nifty, which is an early indicator of sentiment on the NSE Nifty 50 - traded 70 points, or 0.38 per cent, lower at 18,410 in the early trade. Major Asian stocks were also in red with Tokyo's key Nikkei 225 index falling 65.57, or 0.23 per cent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down by 340 points, or 1.87 per cent, in the morning trade.

Earlier on Wednesday, equity benchmark indices ended the trade in the positive territory with the BSE Sensex closing at its fresh life-time high of 61,980.72. The broader NSE Nifty ended marginally higher by 6.25 points or 0.03 per cent to 18,409.65.

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 lost 32.94 points, or 0.83 per cent, to end at 3,958.79 on Wednesday. While Nasdaq Composite lost 174.751 points, or 1.54 per cent, to 11,183.659, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 39.09 points, or 0.12 per cent, to 33,553.83.

Paytm: Japan-based Softbank has started the process to sell a 4.5 per cent stake in One97 Communications for about USD 200 million (around Rs 1,627 crore) in a block deal, according to sources. The development comes immediately after the lock-in period for Paytm's investors to trade shares ended.

DLF: Delhi-based DLF Group is among the three real estate companies that have submitted bids for the Rs 20,000-crore Dharavi redevelopment project. DLF Group is one of the leading developers from north India and one of the largest listed real estate companies with a footprint in 15 states and 24 cities. 

Page Industries: Apparel manufacturer Page Industries on Wednesday said it will invest Rs 290 crore to set up two facilities in Telangana. The new units will provide a total employment to 7,000 local youngsters. It will manufacture garments that include sportswear and athleisure wear, a release said.

MRF: MRF has announced to pay dividends to its shareholders. The multinational tyre manufacturing company has informed that it will pay 30 per cent dividend per share to its shareholders. The 30 per cent dividend translates into Rs 3 per share. The face value of each share of MRF is Rs 10. The company has also announced the record date for determining the eligibility of shareholders for receiving the dividend. MRF dividend record date is Friday, November 18. This means MRF shares will trade ex-dividend today.

Hindustan Zinc: Hindustan Zinc has fixed the record date for the payment of second interim dividend for the financial year 2022-23. The Record date for eligibility of the second interim dividend, if any, so declared will be Thursday, November 24, 2022. The company had previously paid an interim dividend of Rs 21 per equity share in July.  

Tata Motors: Tata Motors on Wednesday said Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer Thierry Bollore has resigned from the post citing personal reasons. Tata Motors, in a regulatory filing, said Bollore has put in his papers. His last day at the British marquee brand will be December 31, 2022. "Taking over from today as Interim CEO at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will be Adrian Mardell," it added. Mardell has been part of JLR for 32 years and is a member of the Executive Board for three years.

IRFC: Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has announced to pay dividend to its shareholders or investors. The government-owned company in an exchange filing informed that it will pay 8 per cent dividend. IRFC has also announced the record date for determining the eligibility of shareholders for receiving dividends. The record date is November 18. IRFC stocks will trade ex-dividend date a trading session before the record date. Accordingly, IRFC stocks will trade ex-dividend on November 17.
