Stocks in News Today, December 27: Stock markets are likely to have a positive start today i.e. December 27 as SGX Nifty- an early indicator of sentiment on the NSE Nifty50 - was up by 51 points, or 0.28 per cent, to trade at 18,080. Both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended over 1 per cent higher on heavy buying in financials, IT and oil stocks after a four-day losing run.

Asian markets were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 jumped 130 points. However, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was down by over 86 points. South Korea’s Kospi was up by 0.51 per cent.

Nureca Ltd: Promoter Payal Goyal has reduced its stake to 2.74 per cent. The stake has now gone down to 29.8 per cent from 32.57 per cent. Payal Goyal sold 55,863 shares through a bulk deal in the open market.

United Spirits: The company has fixed January 6, 2023 as the record date for amalgamation with Pioneer Distilleries Ltd. United Spirits will issue 10 shares for every 47 shares held in Pioneer Distilleries.

NTPC: NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power producer,  has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tecnimont Pvt Ltd - the Indian arm of Italy-based Maire Tecnimont Group. The MoU is to jointly evaluate and explore the possibility to develop a commercial-scale green methanol production facility at the NTPC project in India.

Tata Power: Tata Power Company (TPCL) is reportedly planning to raise up to Rs 2,000 crore via bonds for financing its business operations.

DLF: The Noida Authority has issued a notice to real estate developer DLF to pay Rs 235 crore as compensation to the previous owner of the land on which the Mall of India has been built.
