Domestic Markets remained were in a firm bear grip on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, and closed in a red as investors participated in line with global peers. The S&P BSE Sensex declined 340.60 points or 0.69 per cent to 49,161.81. The Nifty 50 index fell 91.60 points or 0.61 per cent to close at 14,850.75. Siemens: The automation company has reported a 91% YoY rise in profit at Rs 328 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 172 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. Revenue from operations grew 28% to Rs 3,354 crore as against Rs 2,622 crore posted last year. The EBITDA stood at Rs 441.4 crore, up 103% from Rs 218 crore posted last year. The margins improved to 13.1% in the reported quarter against 8.3% reported last year. Siemens registered new orders from continuing operations of Rs 3,309 crore during the quarter, registering a 17% increase over the same period last year. The order backlog stands at a healthy Rs 12,677 crore, it added.

Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL): The company has reported a 59% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 366 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 230 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. Sales grew 26.7% to Rs 2,731 crore in the reported quarter against Rs 2,154 crore posted last year. The EBITDA stood at Rs 549 crore, up 15% from Rs 476.5 crore posted last year. The margin declined to 20% in Q4FY21 against 22% posted in Q4FY20. Besides, Godrej Consumer said on Tuesday that Sudhir Sitapati will join the company as managing director and chief executive officer effective October 18. Nisaba Godrej, currently the chairperson and managing director, will continue to serve as executive chairperson. Sitapati was ED, Foods & Refreshments, at Hindustan Unilever (HUL). 

BASF India: The chemical company has reported a 24% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 56 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 45 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. Consolidated sales grew 48% to Rs 2,806 crore as against Rs 1,892 crore posted last year. The EBITDA stood at Rs 219 crore, up 170% from Rs 81 crore posted last year. The margin improved to 7.8% in Q4FY21 against 4.2% posted in Q4FY20. The board has declared a special dividend of Rs 5 per share in addition to a final dividend of Rs 5 per equity share, subject to approval from Shareholders. AGM is scheduled to be held on August 6, 2021. 

Kalpataru Power: The company engaged in power transmission and infrastructure EPC space has reported a 1,338% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 187 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 13 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. Consolidated sales grew 15.8% YoY to Rs 4,086 crore in the reported quarter against Rs 3,527 crore posted last year. The EBITDA stood at Rs 455 crore, up 45.8% from Rs 312 crore posted last year. Margin improved to 11% in Q4FY21 from 8.8% posted in Q4FY20. The board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.5 per share, subject to approval. 

Jubilant Industries + Cipla: The Karnataka government on Tuesday warned Jubilant Ltd and Cipla with legal action if they fail to fulfill the supply obligation of Remdesivir within 24 hours. The Karnataka government has said that the Centre had directed Jubilant Ltd to supply 32,000 Remdesevir vials to the state by May 9. However, Karnataka has only received 17,601 vials from the company. Cipla was directed to supply 30,000 vials of Remdesivir by May 9, but the state received only 10,840 vials. The centre has fixed the quota on May 1, 2021, for being supplied till May 8, 2021. 

NBCC: State-owned NBCCC on Tuesday announced that it has submitted a revised resolution plan for Jaypee Infratech Ltd through the insolvency process. 

Telecom Stocks: Telecom stocks will be in focus today as TRAI has released the subscribers’ data for the month of February 2021. India’s largest telecom operator Reliance Jio has added 42.7 lakh new subscribers in the month, while Bharti Airtel added 37.4 lakh subscribers and Vodafone Idea added 6.5 lakh subscribers. All three private operators Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea added subscribers during the month.
