The stock markets today ended the day in the green. While the BSE Sensex closed at 50,651.90, up by over 111 points or almost 0.2 per cent, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 was trading 15,197.70, up by over 22 points or almost 0.2 per at the end of the trading session.

In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 16 stocks were trading in the green at the end of Monday’s trade while the remaining 41 were trading in the red. The top five gainers on Monday in the closing trade were SBI, Larsen & Toubro, ITC, Dr Reddy’s Lab and Axis Bank while the top 5 losers were Indusind Bank, Ultratech Cement, Titan Bajaj Finserv and Hindustan Unilever.

Meanwhile NSE Nifty 50 was also almost equally split in terms of stocks that gained and lost on Monday. At the closing time 26 shares advanced while remaining 24 declined. IOCL, BPCL, SBI, Larsen & Toubro and Eicher Motors were the top gainers on Nifty Fifty on Monday at close. The top losers in the day’s trade were Shree Cement, JSW Steel, Britannia Industries and Indusind Bank.

Nifty Midcap 50 and Nifty Bank were up while Nifty Metal was down at the close.   

Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 73.0125 on the BSE against the USD at 3:45 pm on BSE going down by 0.2 per cent.  

Nifty Indices   

  • Nifty Bank ended 1 per cent down at 34,943.60. 
  • Nifty Auto ended flat at 10,315.75 at the end of the day’s trading session.  
  • Nifty PSU ended in the green, going up by almost 2 per cent at 2398.15  
  • Nifty FMCG ended negatively while Nifty IT, Nifty Media, Nifty Metal and Nifty Pharma ended positively.
