The stock markets today started the day on stronger note as BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened in green on Monday, July 12, 2021. BSE Sensex gained 248.14 % or 0.47%, while Nifty 50 added 77 points to its previous closing. Sensex and Nifty opened at 52,634.33 and 15,766.80 respectively on Monday. Similarly, Bank Nifty gained over 276 points or 0.72 per cent to start the day at 35,348.15 points.

Of 50 scrips on Nifty50, 46 scrips advanced, while only 4 declined in the opening hour today. On BSE Sensex, 27 stocks rallied forward, while only three dragged.  

Nifty 50 top gainers were ICICI Bank, Maruti, SBIN, INDUS Ind bank and Tata Motors, while the scrips that dragged the most on Nifty 50 on Monday opening hour were Bajaj Fin Serve, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, HDFC Bank and Nestle India.  

On BSE Sensex, Bajaj Fin Serve and HDFC Bank were top laggards, while Ultratech cement, Maruti, ICICI Bank and SBIN were top gainers.   

Earier on Friday, Equity benchmarks ended the day in red on Friday, July 9, 2021. The S&P BSE Sensex lost 182.75 points or 0.35 per cent to 52,386.19. The Nifty 50 index slid 38.10 points or 0.24 per cent to end at 15,689.80. The Bank Nifty index closed 202.15 points or 0.57 per cent lower at 35,071.95.
