Stock Market Holiday List: In the month of March this year, the domestic equity markets NSE and BSE will remain close for trading for two days - March 1, 2022 and March 18, 2022, on the occasions of Mahashivratri and Holi, respectively.

The investors must also know that the equity, currency and derivative segments will see no action on the above-mentioned days. The markets will resume normal trading on March 2, 2022.

As Holi is on March 18, 2022 which is a Friday, the stock markets will resume normal trading from Monday, March 21, 2022 as the markets remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

As per the BSE holiday calendar list, there have been a number of this year. It is to be noted that the exchanges announce the list of holidays in advance, however, they can alter or change any of the holidays in the list by issuing a separate circular in advance.  

Earlier, this year, January 26, 2022 was a stock market holiday because of Republic Day.

The domestic stock markets will again remain closed on April 14, 2022 and April 15, 2022 on the occasions of Mahavir Jayanti / Dr.Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and Good Friday, respectively.

On Monday, the domestic stock markets opened on a negative note as Ukraine Russia war kept the markets across the world on edge. The Nifty50 slipped below16,500 while the Sensex shed more than 500 points as the two indices started the day at 16,498.05 and 55,329.46 respectively.
