The top 5 gainers on Monday at close were NTPC, Nestle India, Dr Reddys Lab, Sun Pharma and Ultratech Cement while the top 5 losers were HDFC Bank, Indusind Bank, HDFC, Axis Bank and Maruti Suzuki
The Indian stock markets ended negatively on Monday. Both the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50 ended down by over 1 per cent. The BSE Sensex ended at 52,553.40, down by almost 586 points while the NSE Nifty 50 ended at 15,752.40, down by almost 171 points. Nifty Bank was stocks also fell sharply on Monday

Meanwhile in the 50-share NSE Nifty 50, at the closing time 39 shares advanced, while the remaining 11 shares declined. NTPC, BPCL, Divis Lab, Nestle India and Tata Consumer Products were the top 5 gainers on Monday. The top 5 losers in the day’s trade were HDFC Bank, Indusind Bank HDFC Life, Axis Bank and HDFC.
Most major indices including Nifty 50, Nifty Next 50, Nifty Midcap 50, Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services ended in the red on Monday.
Nifty Sectoral Indices
- Among the sectoral indices, Nifty Bank ended 1.88 per cent down at 35,079.20. HDFC Bank was the biggest gainer.
- Nifty auto was down 1.13 per cent at 10,310.90
- Nifty Realty was also up by over 0.43 per cent and ended at 399.25.
- Nifty PSU Bank ended at 2,435.05, down 1.12 per cent from the Friday closing.
- Nifty Media, Nifty IT, Nifty Metal and Nifty FMCG ended in the red on Monday. Nifty Pharma ended in the green.
Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 75.0050 on the BSE against the USD at 3:50 pm moving with a positive bias and up by 0.39 per cent from the Friday closing price.
