Nifty, Sensex poised to open higher as US markets bounce back, Asian stocks surge
Several major stocks will be in the limelight in the session due to the companies April-June quarter results and corporate actions.
Headline indices Sensex and Nifty will likely open in the positive zone in today's (August 7) session. At around, 7:20 am, GIFT Nifty futures, an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, were up 121 points or 0.50 per cent at 24,248 ahead of opening on the Dalal Street.
US Market gets strength; real estate, financial are top gainers
Here is how some of the major indices of US market ends:
- Nasdaq up 166 points or 1.03 per cent at 16,366
- Dow Jones up almost 300 points or 0.76 per cent at 38,997
- S&P 500 up 53 points or 1.04 per cent at 5,240
Asian Markets Update
Similarly, Asian markets are also on a positive note, here's a look at the market's major indices:
- MSCI's broadest index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan is up 7.14 points or 1.40 per cent at 543.45
- Japan's Nikkei 225 index is up 821 points or 2.367 per cent at 35,496
- Hong Kong's Hang Seng up 200 points or 1.20 per cent at 16,846
Furthermore, on August 6, 2024, both domestic indexes end edge lower. Sensex slipped by 166 points or 0.2 per cent at 78,593 and the 50-share index declined 63 points or 0.3 per cent at 23,992 from the previous close.

Corporate Actions: Many companies including Eicher Motors, Bharti Airtel will deliver dividend to their investors.
