Sensex, Nifty set to open higher; GIFT Nifty futures up over 50 pts

At around 7:30 am, GIFT Nifty futures, an early indicator of the 50-share index, were up 57.90 points or 0..23 per cent at 25,547 ahead of the opening bell on Dalal Street.
Global market stocks in rally; Wall Street records new highs
Major indexes hit a record high in US stock market after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 50 basis points. The Dow Jones index crossed 42,100 for the first time, and the S&P 500 hit a record high of 5,724, up 100 points, and Nasdaq ended higher by 2.51 per cent.

- Nasdaq ended higher at 18,013.98, up 440.68 points or 2.51 per cent
- S&P 500 up 95.38 points or 1.70 per cent at 5,713.64
- Japan's Nikkei 225 was up 756.63 points or 2.04 per cent at 37,911.96
- South Korea's KOSPI was up 25.66 points or 1 per cent at 2,606
