Stock Market Holidays 2022: The equity markets will be closed for trading on 9 August which is the day of Muharram (Tuesday). They will also remain closed on 15 August (Monday) on account of Indias Independence Day and 31 August (Wednesday) on account of Ganesh Chaturthi
Stock Market Holidays 2022: The Stock markets will remain shut in August on three occasions on account of Muharram, Independence Day and Ganesh Chaturthi. These holidays will be on regular trading days. These holidays will be apart from regular trading holidays on Saturday and Sundays.
The equity markets will be closed for trading on 9 August which is the day of Muharram (Tuesday). They will also remain closed on 15 August (Monday) on account of India’s Independence Day and 31 August (Wednesday) on account of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Meanwhile, country’s largest commodity exchange - the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will remain closed in the morning session between 9 and 5 pm on Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi. It will resume trading in the evening session from 5 pm to 11:30/11:55 pm on both the days.
MCX will remain closed for trading in both sessions on 15th August.
As for the agriculture commodity index NCDEX (National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited), the exchange will be closed for trading in both sessions i.e. in the morning (9 am to 5 pm) and evening (5 pm to 9 pm).
Apart from this the markets will remain closed on four other occasions in 2022 in October and November. The days are 05 October (Wednesday), 24 October (Monday) and 26 October (Wednesday) on account of Dussehra, Dwali or Laxmi Pujan and Diwali Balipratipada.
In November there will be one trading holiday on 8 November on account of Gurunanak Jayanti. It is falling on Tuesday.
There were 13 declared holidays during the calendar year 2022.
