Stock Market Holiday: NSE, BSE close today on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti
Domestic equity markets NSE and BSE will remain close for trading on Friday, November 19, 2021, on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Domestic equity markets NSE and BSE will remain close for trading on Friday, November 19, 2021, on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Equity, currency and derivative segments will see no action on Friday, however, commodity market will open for trading in the evening after remaining close in the morning.
The markets will resume normal trading on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Apart from the regular closing days, markets were to remain closed for trading on three days in November, including 19 November. Stock markets remained closed on 4 November, 2021, on account of Diwali (Laxmi Pujan) and the next day on Diwali Balipratipada.
As per BSE holiday calendar list, there have been as many as 14 holidays this year, with 19 November being the last official holiday for Indian exchanges. The Indian markets will remain open for the remainder of November and all trading days in December.
It is to be noted that the exchanges announce the list of holidays in advance, however, they can alter or change any of the holidays in the list by issuing a separate circular in advance.
Meanwhile, domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 extended their losses on Thursday, the last trading day of the week. The week gone by witnessed volatile trading sessions amid mixed global cues, selloffs and profit booking. Headline indices Sensex ended 372 points lower, while Nifty50 gave up 17,800 o close at 17,745.35 and 59,636.01 respectively.
Auto, financial and tech shares dragged the market the most on the last trading day of the week amid two IPOs—Paytm and Sapphire Foods — making weak to decent listing on Thursday.
Tata Motors, tech Mahindra, Mahindra and Mahindra Larsen and Toubro and Eicher Motors declined between 3 to 4 per cent on Thursday, a weekly F&O expiry day. SBI, Powergrid, HDFC Bank, IOC and Reliance supported the indices in the otherwise negative market. The 12-share Nifty Bank also slid below 38,000-mark as it declined by 91.05 or 0.24% to 37,950.50.
