Nifty, Sensex likely to open positive; GIFT Nifty futures edge higher

Share Market Today, August 23, 2024: Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty will likely open negative in today's (August 23) session. At around 7:30 am, GIFT Nifty futures, an early indicator of the Nifty50 index were up 5 points or 0.02 per cent at 24,845 ahead of opening on Dalal Street.

Global markets weak

US and Asian stock markets were weak, the Nasdaq ended lower by 1.67 per cent and the Nikkei index is also down by 0.26 per cent.
