Share Market Opening Bell! Sensex, Nifty start the week in green; Auto stocks lead the surge
The Indian markets on Monday started the week on a positive note with the BSE Sensex surging 314 points or 0.6 per cent to 52,901.3, while Nifty grew 112 points or 0.7 per cent to 15,874.9 levels.

In the broader markets category, the mid-cap index followed the suite of benchmarks and gained over 169 points or 0.6 per cent to 27985 at the market open on Monday. Similarly, Nifty Bank also soared by 177 points 0.5 per cent to 34761 today at the market open.

Of 50 scrips on Nifty50, 47 advanced, 3 declined at the market open today. On the back of strong July Auto sales numbers, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Bajaj Auto became the top gainer today along with Indian Oil Corporation and Sun Pharma (Strong Q1 numbers).
Post its after-market Q1 results on Friday, UPL during Monday’s session slumped most in the early morning trade by over 1 per cent, followed by Tech Mahindra down near 1 per cent. While Wipro and NTPC each fell by around 0.5 per cent on Monday.
Almost all sectoral indices on Monday opened in the green today, with Nifty Auto surging almost one per cent, while banking and financial stocks are keeping the market positive.
On the global front, US markets on Friday close lower, as Dow Jones, Nasdaq each fell by around 0.5 per cent, similarly, Asian markets on Monday are largely negative in trade, Nikkei outperforms peers with over 1 per cent gain.
