Share Market Closing Bell! Sensex up 175 pts, Nifty ends near 18000 - Titan jumps 6%; IT stocks continue to bleed

The Indian market on Tuesday closed positive for the second session in a row. The Nifty ended near the 18000-mark and Sensex registers record close above 60300-level. The fast-moving consumer goods, as well as metal stocks, shine, while IT stocks continue to drag the market on the second day today.
The BSE Sensex surged 176.53 points or 0.29 per cent at 60,312.31; while Nifty50 gained 46 points or 0.26 per cent to 17,991.95. Similarly, the mid-cap index along with benchmarks also soared over 174 points or 0.55 per cent to 31,805.5 at the market close today.

As many as 31 stocks advanced and 19 declined on the Nifty50 index at the market close today. Ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s favourite stock Titan Company gained most by almost 6 per cent at the market close on Tuesday, followed by Bajaj Auto up over 3 per cent.
Other stocks such as Bajaj Finserv, SBI, Divis Lab, Hindalco, and Hero Moto gained between 2-3 per cent in the record closing market on Tuesday.
On the contrary, HCL Tech decline most in the positive market, down near 4 per cent, followed by HDFC Life, Coal India, Tech Mahindra UltraTech Cement, and Grasim slipped between 1-2 per cent.
Almost all sectoral indices closed in the green, except for Nifty IT, which registered weakness for the second straight session on Tuesday, down around 1 per cent, while Nifty FMCG, Metal, and Auto gained most by over 1 per cent each at the market close.
Similarly, Nifty Media up 1.5 per cent and Realty near 1 per cent powered most to the broader markets such as Mid and Small-cap indices on Tuesday at the close.
