The BSE Sensex scaled the 59,000-mark for the first time on Thursday. The 30-share index climbed 417.96 points or 0.71 per cent to close at 59,141.16. It touched an intra-day record of 59,204.29. Noteworthy, the benchmark index has gained 11,389.83 points or 23.85 per cent so far this year. Also, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies created a new record of Rs 2,60,78,355.12 crore.
