Sensex, Nifty set to open positive; GIFT Nifty futures up over 100 pts

- S&P 500 up 40.91 points or 0.71 per cent at 5,792.04
- Japan's Nikkei 225 was up 108.46 points or 0.25 per cent at 39,377
- Hong Kong's Hang Seng up 408.76 points or 1.94 per cent at 21,046.00
- South Korea's KOSPI up 10.47 or 0.50 per cent at 2,604.83
Previous session summary
In the last session (October 9) both domestic indexes ended lower, Sensex closed at 81,467.10, down 167.71 pts or 0.21 per cent and the 50-share index (Nifty 50) closed at 24,981.95, up 31.20 pts or 0.12 per cent. Meanwhile, financial, and IT sector stocks such as SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and HCL Tech were top gainers.
