Sensex, Nifty rise on positive DII & FII; MTNL, DHFL stocks gain
The BSE Sensex rose 0.22 per cent at 41,098 levels while the Nifty-50 index went up 0.21 per cent at 12,111 levels. The Bank Nifty index went up 0.30 per cent to 32,111 levels.

Speaking on the current market scenario Prakash Pandey, MD & CEO at Plutus Advisors said, "Nifty is trading in the range of 11,970 to 12,190. Nifty has strong support ar 11,970 and it has strong resistance at 12,190 levels. Bull or bear trend will be decided on the breakage of either side of the range."

Shares of Trident Ltd, PC Jeweller, Coffee Day Enterprise, Reliance Infrastructure, Dewan Housing Finance Limited or DHFL, Reliance Power, Reliance Capital, Magma Fincorp, Parag Milk Foods and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the major gainers in the Opening Bell trade session while stocks of Sterlite Technologies, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, ITI, RBL Bank, PNB or Punjab National Bank were among the major losers in the intraday trade.
Telecom stocks led the bull run on Dalal Street in the Opening Bell trade session as the BSE Telecom index went up near 0.79 per cent. Telecom major Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd or MTNL share price skyrocketed 4.92 per cent, Reliance Communications share rose 2.35 per cent, shares of Bharti Infratel went up 1.57 per cent, Aksh Optifibre stocks rose 1.46 per cent while Vodafone Idea share price dipped 1.45 per cent.
Among the major Asian markets, the Japanese Nikkei shed 0.02 per cent, Kopi slipped 0.01 per cent, Hang Seng dipped 0.30 per cent while the Shanghai markets went up 0.06 per cent.
