Benchmark indices were trading at day's high in the noon deals of Wednesday, March 16, 2022. At 1:13 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 742.19 points or 1.33% higher at 56,519.04. Nifty 50 index was 219.60 points or 1.32% up and was trading at 16,882.60. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them.   • General Insurance Stocks: On a move. Stocks like New India Assurance - up 10.59%; GIC: Up 7.66%, ICICI Prudential - up 1.44% Third-party insurance charges are likely to go up from April 1, 2022.
  • Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (up 4.07%) / Cochin Shipyard (up 1.06%): Dredging Corporation's board has signed a contract with Cochin Shipyard for the construction of a 12,000 cubic meter hopper capacity trailer suction hopper dredger for euro 104 million under the Make in India - Atma Nirbhar Bharat program. The construction period is about three years.  
  • Tata Motors: Up 2.53%. Tata Motors has received orders for the supply of 250 EVs from Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility (AMGM). 
  • United Spirits: Up 2.49%. Inbrew Beverages, reportedly, is likely to buy a $30 crore portfolio of Indian brands being sold by Diageo Plc. Diageo may sell lower-margin brands including Haywards, Bagpiper whisky and White Mischief vodka. 
  • Wockhardt: Up 1.85%. National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA to conduct human Phase 1 trial of Wockhardt’s novel once-a-day multidrug-resistant (MDR) Gram-negative antibiotic WCK 6777. The trial will be conducted at NIAID’s Phase I clinical trial units in the USA.
  • Unichem Laboratories: Up 3.04%. The company has announced that it has received ANDA approval for its Nebivolol Tablets 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market a generic version of Bystolic® (nebivolol) Tablets 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg, of Allergan Sales, LLC. Nebivolol Tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension. The product will be commercialized from Unichem’s Ghaziabad Plant.
  • DCB Bank: Up 1.13%. The new-generation private sector bank, today announced the opening of its 50th branch in Odisha – at Chandrasekharpur, a resident and commercial locality in the capital city Bhubaneswar.
  • Rane Holdings: Up 1%. Promoter & Promoter Group has acquired (creeping acquisition) 1,80,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each fully paid up (2.33%) in its subsidiary Rane Brake Lining Limited (RBL) through open market purchase. The aggregate equity shareholding of RHL in RBL post this acquisition stands increased from 47.70% to 50.03%.
  • Minda Corporation: Up 1.03%. Ministry of Heavy Industry has approved the company's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the automobile industry. 
  • ITC Ltd.: Up 1.26%. ITC Limited has acquired 1,040 Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares of Rs 10 each of Mother Sparsh Baby Care Private Limited (Mother Sparsh). With the aforesaid acquisition, the Company's shareholding in Mother Sparsh aggregates 16% of its share capital on a fully diluted basis.
