Operation Demat Daka Big Impact: 4 out of 5 victims of demat account hacking receive compensation; Anil Singhvi lauds them for their courage

BIG IMPACT of Zee Business’ Operation ‘Demat Daka’ programme. The channel did a programme on victims who had suffered losses because of hacking of their demat accounts. The channel is happy to inform its viewers that as a result of the show, four victims who were brought on the show to tell their story have been compensated for their losses. (#OperationDematDhaka)

The show was done by Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi. The channel had raised the issue of hacking in the demat accounts of the investors.

The hackers who did hacking in the demat accounts which resulted in losses for the traders and investors by buying unwarranted stocks or by trading in the out of the money options.

Not only have these four victims been compensated but have also been assured assistance to fight their legal battle against the fraud.

Zee Business did two shows on this hacking issue. In the first show, it called three such victims on its show and in the next show 2 victims were called.

Out of the five victims who came on the Operation #DematDaka show, four have been compensated.

The Market Guru has a piece of advice for all the investors who have been a victim of any fraud to come out and show courage in raising their problems. Their voices will not go unheard, he added.

The channel took it upon itself to raise the voice of the people aggrieved by giving them its platform. The action has now been taken after the victims came forward to tell their stories.

The three victims have also come again on this show.

One of the victims, Ranjeet Dsouza told Zee Business that his losses have been compensated. His said that his portfolio shares were sold from his account. His overnight F&O positions were sold-off, he said. Moreover, illiquid options of Idea shares were bought from his account. He incurred losses amounting to Rs 1.58 lakhs, he said. He has received a refund from Zerodha, he further said.

He thanked Zee Business and the entire team for this effort.

The managing editor also congratulated and praised Dsouza for his courage.
