Opening Bell: Nifty, Sensex open flat; UPL, Reliance among top gainers
Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty50 and S&P BSE Sensex opened flat with negative bias on Thursday. The Nifty started Thursday's session at 17,417.30, while the Sensex opened at 58,363.93.

The Bank Nifty opened in negative at 37,362.05 and was trading 159 points lower from previous closing as six shares traded in the green and remaining six negative.

UPL, Coal India, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors and Hindalco were top gainers on the Nifty 50, while ICICI Bank, Shree Cement, HDFC Bank and Hindustan Unilever were the laggards.
In the pre-open Sensex open flat with 23 points gain to 58,363.93 as 16 shares advanced and 14 declined on the 30-share Sensex. The Nifty, however, gained over 100 points to open at 17,550.
Meanwhile, Asian Markets were seen trading positive in the early trade on Thursday. Japanese Nikkei 225 Index traded 240 points up to 29,541, Hang Seng of the Hong Kong Exchange and China's Shanghai Composite traded flat around 7.15 am.
Earlier, the US markets closed mixed as Dow Jones recovered 200 points to close flat with negative bias, while Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 ended in the green. Dow Jones slipped 9 points to 35,804, Nasdaq Composite gained 70 points to 15,845 and S&P 500 was up 11 points to 4701 on Wednesday.
