Opening Bell: Nifty above 17,900, Sensex up 280 points; Tata Steel, Hindalco gain
The India markets started the last trading day of the week in the green. Benchmarks indices Nifty50 and S&P BSE 500 both opened with gains on Friday as the former added 78.95 or 0.44% to 17,952.55.

Bank Nifty also gained over 130 points to start Friday on 38,707.15.
Meanwhile, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Tech Mahindra and Mahindra and Mahindra were top gainers on Nifty50, while SBI Life and Bajaj Auto dragged the index the most.
Earlier in the pre-open, Nifty, Sensex both gained as the former opened at 17,967.45, nearly 90 points up from its previous closing, and the latter opened at 60,248.04, up 328.35 points. 29 shares advanced and one declined on Sensex and 8 were in the green, 41 traded negative and one remain unchanged in the pre-open session.
Asian Markets were seen trading in the green in early trading hours on Friday. Japanese Nikkei 225 was trading 335 points up to 29612, a gain of 1.14%. Hang Sang Index was also up 113 points to 25,360. Shanghai Composite was also trading flat with poistive bias.
Earlier the wall street indices closed mixed as Dow Jones corrected 159 points to close at 35,921, Nasdaq Composite ended with gains of 82 points at 15,704 and S&P500 also settled flat at 4,649, a gain of 3 points, on Thursday's closing.
