Next Stock Market Holiday August 2022: BSE, NSE to remain closed on 31 August
Apart from BSE and NSE, the morning trading will also remain closed on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). It will resume trading in the evening session from 5 pm to 11:30/11:55 pm on both days.
Next Stock Market Holidays August 2022: The Indian stock market (BSE and NSE) will be closed on Ganesh Chaturthi which will be celebrated on 31 August (Wednesday). Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of Lord Ganesh to Earth.
Apart from BSE and NSE, the morning trading will also remain closed on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). It will resume trading in the evening session from 5 pm to 11:30/11:55 pm on both days.
Earlier this month, the domestic equity markets were closed for trading on 9 August and 15 August on account of Muharram and Independence Day, respectively. The stock exchanges were closed for regular trading on 15 August (Monday). The exchanges saw no action in equity, derivative and SLB segments.
Meanwhile, 16 August (Tuesday) is a settlement holiday owing to the Parsi New Year, meaning the markets are open, but the depositories (NSDL and CDSL) are closed.
In October and November, the stock market will be closed on four other occasions -- 5 October (Wednesday), 24 October (Monday) and 26 October (Wednesday) on account of Dussehra, Diwali and Diwali Balipratipada, respectively.
