Muhurat Trading 2024: Muhurat trading is a special trading session conducted on the D-Street on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. This time around we will usher in Samvat 2081, a new Hindu Calendar year, as the Muhurat session is scheduled to take place on November 1.

So far as we progress into the festivities, only the date for the special session is known. NSE in its holiday communication said, "Timings of Muhurat Trading shall be notified subsequently".

What is Muhurat Trading?

As can we known from the term 'Muhurat Trading' is carried out in a trading window usually out of the normal trading hours. The timings of such an event is determined considering auspicious moments falling in a day. It is usually a hour session with the pre-opening session at the start similar to the regular session.

Such a trading is exercised as it is believed that it is the most auspicious time to carry out trade in equities and it shall further translate into year-round profits for investors and traders alike.

Ahead of the Muhurat Trading, there is a Lakshmi Pujan conducted and then is the opening bell ringing ceremony that marks the start of the Muhurat Trading.

Beliefs behind Muhurat Trading 

Some investors make a token purchase to mark the beginning of the new financial year.

Others seek to invoke blessings and good fortunes by engaging in such a practise.
