In the 30-share BSE Sensex, 19 stocks were trading in the green at the end of Thursday’s trading session while the remaining 11 were trading in the red. The top five gainers on Thursday at close were SBI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Auto, Tech Mahindra and Axis Bank while the top 5 losers were HDFC, Bajaj Finance, ONGC, Hindustan Unilever and NTPC.

Meanwhile in the 50-share NSE Nifty 50, at the closing time 34 shares advanced while remaining 16 declined. Shree Cement, SBI, Bajaj Auto, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Tech Mahindra were the top 5 gainers. The top 5 losers in the day’s trade were HDFC, ONGC, IOC, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel.
Nifty Midcap 50 and Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services ended the day in the green.
Nifty Indices
- Among the sectoral indices, Nifty Bank was among the biggest gainer at 35,095.05, ending up by almost 1.2 per cent.
- Nifty Auto ended up 0.5 per cent at 10,486.
- State-run banks continue to perform batter as Nifty PSU Bank ended up 2.8 per cent on Thursday at 2427.
- Nifty FMCG ended flat while Nifty IT, Nifty Media and Nifty Metal ended in the green. Nifty Pharma ended negatively.
Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 72.6375 on the BSE against the USD at 3:50 pm going down by 0.3 per cent. The USD has continued its weakness against the INR.
