The Indian markets were trading flat in the afternoon after gaining nearly 1 per cent in the early trade on Friday. Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty50 and the S&P BSE Sensex were trading with marginal gains of 0.2 per cent and 0.10 per cent respectively. At 1.40 am, the broader Nifty was up 35 points to 17,780.90, while the 30-share Sensex traded 57 points higher to 59,658.87.

Earlier in the day, the Nifty went past 17,900 to trade at day's high value of 17,905, while the Sensex surpassed 60,000 to trade at 60,130.18. Later, the markets saw pull back, dragged by financial shares and mixed global cues on the last trading day of the week.
Grasim, ONGC, Tata Consumer, Shree Cement, Hindalco, Asian Paints, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Nestle India, Hindustan Unilever were top gainers on the two indices.
Bajaj twins Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finance, Mahindra and Mahindra, HDFC, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel were among the top losers.
Meanwhile, aided by AU Small Finance Bank, Bandhan Bank and Federal Bank, Nifty Bank continued to put up good show as the banking 12-share banking index traded 227.15 points or 0.61% higher to 37,717.40.
