Nikhil Siddhartha-starrer Karthikeya 2 has been ascending at the box office amid boycott calls for Bollywood movies. Taapsee Pannu recently released 'Dobaaraa' was the latest 'victim' of #boycottbollywood campaign. A section of twitter users also called for boycotting Vijay Deverakonda's Liger for Karan Johar's involvement in the film.

A sequel to the critically acclaimed movie 'Karthikeya', the second installment of the movie even beat the likes of Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan in terms of collection on Friday.  

On Saturday, Nikhil Siddhartha mythological drama jumped manifolds from its opening day collection of mere Rs 7 lakh in Hindi belt. The Hindi version of the movie has made Rs 11.25 crore until Saturday. 

The movie has been growing by leaps and bounds and collected Rs5.50 crore in just two days amid positive words of mouth and boycott calls for Bollywood films.

The film is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti and is the sequel to the critically acclaimed movie 'Karthikeya' that was released in 2014.  

The film is a mythological mystery thriller and explores the secrets buried under the sea near Dwarka. The cast of the film include Nikhil, Anupama Parameswaran, Anupam Kher, Srinivasa Reddy and others.
