Domestic equity markets witnessed a sharp reversal in early afternoon deals on Tuesday. At 12:49 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading with a gain of 243.27 points or 0.42% at 58,540.18. The Nifty 50 index was trading 53.40 points or 0.31% higher at 17,431.20. In the intraday trade, the Sensex hit the day’s low at 58,005.07 while the Nifty 50 hit a low of 17,287.00. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks:

Stocks at Life Highs

IRCTC: Up 7.83%. Meanwhile, the stock hit the life high of Rs 3,245 per stock earlier in the intraday deals today. 

Voltas: Up 5.37%. Meanwhile, the stock hit the life high of Rs 1,200 per stock earlier in the intraday deals today.

Asian Paints: Up 0.99%. Meanwhile, the stock hit the life high of Rs 3,394.60 per stock earlier in the intraday deals today.

Navin Fluorine: Up 0.87%. Meanwhile, the stock hit the life high of Rs 4,212.75 per stock earlier in the intraday deals today.

Stocks in News

Railway Stocks: Moving up. Titagarh Wagons – up 5.61%; Texmaco Rail – up 5.03%; CEBBCO – up 5%. Indian Railways has floated tenders for procurement of 8,875 wagons, reports. The wagons will be procured at Rs 2,700 crore. 

Panacea Biotec: Up 6.60%. The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF, Russia’s sovereign wealth fund) and Panacea Biotec Ltd., one of India’s leading vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers, announce the supply of the 1st shipment out of 1 million doses of the second component (human adenovirus serotype 5) of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine manufactured by Panacea Biotec for sale in India.

Vivimed Labs: Up 4.91%. The company has withdrawn 2.5 crore warrants issued in 2019. The proposed allottees have withdrawn their consent to apply for warrants due to cash flow problems arisen because of COVID-19. Hence the Board of Directors of the Company has approved the withdrawal of consent by all the Proposed allottees. The company has proposed to issue 4.25 crore warrants to promoters and non-promoters subject to the necessary approvals and the warrants will be convertible into an equivalent number of equity shares of Rs.2/- each and will be issued at Rs 25. Besides, the board has also approved an enabling resolution for raising funds through the issue of equity shares through QIP/GDR/ADR/FCCB/Other Securities up to an amount of Rs 250 crore. 

VST Tillers: Up 6.27%. VST Tillers Tractors Limited (VST) has launched the VST range of Tractors and Power Tillers in Southern Africa. The company has agreed with ETG (Export Trading Group), for the distribution of its Tractors, Power Tillers, Power Reapers and Diesel Engines in the Southern African markets including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, and Zambia.

Equitas Small Finance Bank: Up 0.33%. Equitas Small Finance Bank (SFB) expects to restructure loans worth up to Rs 700 crore till December under the COVID-19 regulatory package. The Chennai-based private lender has guided for restructuring to be Rs 1,500-1,600 crore for those impacted by COVID-19 under the package announced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Nuvoco Vistas Corporation: Up 0.18%. Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Ltd, the fifth largest cement maker in the country, on Monday announced a 204% QoQ rise in the net profit at Rs 114 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021.IT had posted a profit of Rs 37.5 crore in the previous quarter ended March 31, 2021. Revenue from operations dropped 16% to Rs 2,203 crore in the quarter under consideration as against Rs 2,632 crore posted in the previous quarter. The EBITDA stood at Rs 515 crore, down 1.5% from Rs 523 crore posted in the previous quarter. Margin improved to 23.3% in Q1FY22 as against 20% posted in Q4FY21. Consolidated figures are not comparable on a year-on-year basis as the acquisition of NU Vista Limited took place on July 14, 2020. 

Triveni Turbine Ltd.:  Down 3.27%. Due to multiple disputes for over two years amongst joint venture company GE Triveni Ltd (GETL), the JV Partners, Triveni Turbine Ltd (TTL) and D I Netherlands B.V. and Baker Hughes and its affiliates (BH Parties) have determined that remaining in the Joint Venture Agreement is no longer in their interest. The Parties have now agreed to terminate the Joint Venture Agreement and fully and finally settle and resolve the multiple disputes amongst TTL, the BH Parties and General Electric Company and its affiliates (GE Parties). Hence, a Settlement Agreement has been executed on September 06, 2021. The entire shareholding held by D I in the equity share capital of GETL (49.99%) has been acquired by TTL at a consideration of Rs 8 crore. 

Orient Cement: Down 0.69%. HDFC Asset Management Company sold 2.18% stakes in the company via open market transaction, reducing shareholding to 2.97% from 5.15% earlier.

Dhampur Sugar: Down 0.75%. The National Green Tribunal has imposed a Rs 20 crore penalty on four units of Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd in Uttar Pradesh for continuous violation of environmental laws. The NGT imposed environmental compensation of Rs 5 crore each on Dhampur Sugar Mills, District Sambhal; Dhampur Sugar Mills, District Bijnor; Dhampur Distillery Unit, District Bijnor and Dhampur Sugar Mills, Meerganj, District Bareilly, and directed them to pay the amount in 30 days from September 1, 2021. The tribunal said one thing which has very clearly emerged is that all the four units were continuously violating the environmental laws and have shown indifferent attitudes and non-concern towards the harmful effect of pollution on the environment.

NALCO: Down 2.07%. The Board has recommended final dividend@ Re.1/- per share (20% on the face value of Rs.5/- each) for the financial year ended March 31, 2021, subject to the approval of shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM). This final dividend is in addition to the 1st and 2nd interim dividend of Rs. 2.50 per share (50% on the face value of Rs.5/- each) already paid during December 2020 and March 2021 respectively during the financial year 2020-21.

Consumer Durable Stocks: Moving up. Symphony – up 3.02%; Blue Star – up 1.71%; Voltas – up 5.48%; Havells India – up 0.68%; Bajaj Electricals – up 2.61% were trading higher. 

Tea & Coffee Stocks: Moving up. Stocks like McLeod Russel – up 4.96%; Tata Coffee – up 5.07%; CCL Products – up 2.89%; Jayshree Tea – up 3.44%; Tata Consumers – up 0.60%; Harrison Malayalam – up 2.70% were trading higher. 

Paint Stocks: Moving up. Stocks like Shalimar Paints – up 2.59%; Asian Paints – up 1.04%; Indigo Paints – up 0.42%; were trading higher. 

Falling stocks 

Adani Group Stocks: Falling. Stocks of the group like Adani Power-down 5%; Adani Total Gas – down 5%; Adani Green – down 2.36%; Adani Transmission – down 2%; Adani Enterprises – down 0.70%; were trading with a fall. Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd: Down 10%. 

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd: Down 3.59%.
