The stock markets today ended the day almost flat. While the BSE Sensex closed the day with negative bias at 50,637.53, down by over 14 points, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 was trading 15,208.45, up by almost 11 points at the end of the trading session.

In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 21 stocks were trading in the green at the end of Tuesday’s trading session while the remaining 9 were trading in the red. The top five gainers on Tuesday in the closing trade were Asian Paints, Titan, Bajaj Finserv, ONGC and TCS while the top 5 losers were HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, Indusind Bank and HDFC. 

Meanwhile NSE Nifty 50 was ended with a positive bias on Tuesday. At the closing time 38 shares advanced while remaining 11 declined and one stock remained unchanged. Asian Paints, Titan, JSW Steel, Eicher Motors and Britannia Industries were the top gainers on Nifty Fifty on Tuesday at close. The top losers in the day’s trade were HDFC Bank, HDFC Life, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries and Coal India.  

Nifty Midcap 50, Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services were down today while Nifty FMCG, Nifty IT and Nifty Media were up at the close.   

 Nifty Indices   

  • Nifty Bank ended 0.9 per cent down at 34,662 
  • Nifty Auto ended up 0.7 per cent at 10,384.30 at the end of the day’s trading session.  
  • Nifty PSU Bank ended in the red, going down by almost 1.3 per cent at 2,366.10 
  • Nifty Metal up 0.6 per cent and Nifty Pharma up 0.4 per cent ended positively. 

Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 72.8425 on the BSE against the USD at 4:21 pm going down by 0.2 per cent.
