FIRST TRADE: Indices open positive; Nifty at 19,850.9; Sensex at 66,834.12; Cipla top gainer
Stock market today: Last seen, the Nifty50 index was trading at 19,844.9, up 66.6 points, while the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 66,921.12, up 213.92 points.
Stock market today: India equity indices opened strong on Thursday, July 27 with NSE Nifty above 19,800 level and Sensex above the 66,800 mark. Last seen, the Nifty50 index was trading at 19,850.9, up 72.6 points, while the S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 66,834.12, up 126.92 points. Cipla emerged as the top gainer up over 6 per cent on NSE post results, followed by Bajaj Finance which edged up over 1 per cent on NSE.
Broader market
Nifty Midcap 100 index edged up by 0.48 per cent followed by Smallcap 100 rising by 0.3 per cent.
Sectoral watch
Nifty Bank opened 0.49 per cent higher at 46285.85. Expect for Nifty Auto all indices traded strong.
Buzzing stocks
Cipla, Bajaj Finance were the top gainers post results. Dr. Reddy's Laboratories also opened positive on the back of good results. L&T and Infosys also opened strong.
Conversely, Mahindra and Mahindra opened lower after buying stakes in RBL Bank, and RBL Bank shares also slipped. Tata Consumer Product opened lower post results. Britannia also opened in the red.
