FIRST TRADE: Indices open flat; Sensex up over 50 pts; Nifty hovers around 19,550
Stock market today: At the time of filing this report, both indices were flat by 0.10 per cent. The S&P BSE Sensex was flat by 63.23 points at 65,691.37, and the NSE Nifty was flat by 19.7 points at 19,548.5.
Stock market today: The domestic equity indices opened flat on Monday, September 5, on the back of hopes of the US Federal Reserve rate hike pause, China's support for its property sector, and strong domestic macroeconomic data. IT, metal, and banks were the only counters trading in the red.
At the time of filing this report, both indices were flat by 0.10 per cent. The S&P BSE Sensex was flat by 63.23 points at 65,691.37, and the NSE Nifty was flat by 19.7 points at 19,548.5.
In the broader market, the Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 indices were over half a per cent higher.
Nifty Bank was flat at 44,567.35.
BUZZING STOCKS
Oil India shares were up over 1 per cent after the board approved an equity contribution of up to Rs 1,738 crore in a joint venture company with Assam Gas Company Limited.
HP Adhesives stock was down over 1 per cent after the board approved stock split.
Muthoot Finance stock was up over 1 per cent after the company announced raising up to Rs 400 crore through the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs).
SpiceJet shares were up nearly 5 per cent higher as the airlines allotted over 4.8 crore shares to nine aircraft lessors to clear outstanding dues worth nearly Rs 231 crore.
India Energy Exchange shares were up over 1 per cent after total trade volume rose by over 13 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to 8,865 million units in August.
UTI AMC, HDFC AMC and Nippon India shares traded in green after Zerodha applied for approval of two mutual fund schemes.
Nazara Technologies shares were up over 6 per cent as the company will discuss raising capital in the board meeting on Thursday, September 7.
Raymond stock was up over 8 per cent after Jefferies and Motilal Oswal initiated a buy call.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd shares were up over 3 per cent as the company's Joint Venture RVNL-MPCC was announced as the L1 bidder for Western Railway.
NRB Bearings shares were up over 2 per cent after Foreign Portfolio Investors, ACACIA PARTNERS L.P. sold 16.35 lakh (1.69 per cent) shares at 269 per share.
