EPFO job status: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation is constantly trying to make all the registered employees' life easy with new initiatives and measures. In this regard, the organisation has now come up with an initiative, wherein employees can update their job exit date on the EPFO portal.
The date of exit is updated when the contribution from the employees and employers is stopped. It can only be marked two months after the last contribution made by the employer in the provident fund account of an employee. While entering the date of exit, an employer can enter any date of the month in which the last contribution was made.

EPFO through its official Twitter handle has notified the steps of how an employee can update his/her date of exit on the official website. It said, “Now Employees can also update their Date of Exit.”
Here are the steps on how to update your exit date.
1. Visit www.unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ and login with UAN (Universal Account Number) and Password
2. Go to ‘Manage’ and click ‘Mark Exit’, choose ‘PF Account Number’ from ‘Select Employment’ dropdown
3. Enter the ‘Date of Exit’ and ‘Reason of Exit’
4. Click Request OTP and enter OTP sent on Aadhaar linked mobile number
5. Select ‘Checkbox’
6.Click on Update and Click on Ok
And, your Date of Exit is updated.
Earlier, only the employer had this opportunity to update the date. If the exit date is not available on the EPFO records, then an EPF account holder cannot withdraw money from his EPF account or transfer even the account from the previous employer to a new one.
EPFO lately has made the transfer and withdrawal of funds from EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) accounts simpler for its members.
