Anchor & Head - Research at Zee Business, Deepanshu Bhandari, spoke to Managing Editor at Zee Business, Anil Singhvi, popularly referred to as Market Guru, in an episode of Editor's Take, about what should be the strategy of investors in terms of safety and trading 10 days after the emergence of COVID-19 new variant, Omicron.

In response to Deepanshu's question, Anil Singhvi said, "People don't have to be scared, but cautious. People need to be only scared enough to remember that they have to follow safety protocols and don't turn careless."

‘Follow Safety Protocols’

Anil Singhvi also said, "We only need to go back to basics for our safety, wearing masks, following social distancing, and sanitization. It is time for people to become more sincere towards their safety."

"Coming to the market, the number of COVID cases being reported every day currently hasn't seen much of a change. Many countries are still reporting COVID cases of 50000-60000 still, and if out of these cases there are a few Omicron cases, I don't think we need to panic about this," Anil Singhvi added.

Citing a report, Anil Singhvi said, "Omicron is more contagious but not fatal as compared to earlier variants. We are already aware that we have to live with COVID for a long time. So, we need to adjust accordingly."

‘Exercise caution while trading’

Explaining the strategy for Market, Anil Singhvi said, "Investors should keep a low overnight position. Investors should do proper hedging. And, if people are doing day trading, then they should do it with a stop loss, as the market is going to be very volatile."

The market can move drastically up too."
