Meanwhile, celebrity investors like Ashish Kacholia and Dolly Khanna also increased their portfolio significantly and their net worth has jumped up to 98% year on year (YoY) as on March 31, 2022.  

Dolly Khanna Portfolio

A closer look at the portfolio of Dolly Khanna between March 2022 and the same quarter in the previous year shows that the celebrity investor increased the number of stocks from 9 to 25, as per BSE corporate filings. Similarly, between the two quarters the net worth of Chennai-based investor grew from Rs 198.3 crore in March 2021 to Rs 393.6 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2022, according to trendlyne.com, a portal to analyse stock market related data.  This was a surge in a whooping Rs 195.3 crore or 98.48%.   

Khanna, who is known for picking lesser-known stocks, added six stocks — Goa Carbons, Nahar Spinning Mills, Pondy Oxides & Chemicals, Sharda Cropchem, Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores and Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers — in the quarter ended March 2022. He also raised his position in around 10 stocks in the recently concluded quarter.   

Ashish Kacholia Portfolio

Similarly, ace investor Ashish Kacholia, who held 24 stocks in the quarter ended March 31, 2021, increased the number of stocks to 35 in the recently concluded quarter. As per Trendlyne, the value of 24 stocks was pegged at over Rs1,291.6 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. As per March 2022, the value of 35 stocks has been estimated at Rs 1,948.7 core, a jump of 657.1 crore or 50.8%, showed Trendlyne data.  

Popularly called ‘Big Whale’ by media, Kacholia made four new additions, namely Gravita India, Fineotex Chemical, Creative Newtech and Stove Kraft in the March 2022 quarter.   

Besides, the portfolio of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who invests along with wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala, gained 87% year-on-year. Against 37 stocks with a net value of Rs 16727.2 crore March 2021, the big bull's portfolio net worth grew to Rs 31,396.7 crore in the same quarter this year. He holds 34 stocks in his portfolio in the March 2022 quarter.
