Indian market extended losses on the last trading day of the week as it closed negative for third session in a row on Friday. After showing signs of recovery in the afternoon trade when benchmarks Nifty50 and the Sensex surged up to 0.50%, the indices closed marginally lower. The broader Nifty settled with 0.16% loss at 17,276.30, while the Sensex declined 60 points to end at 57,832.97.
ONGC, Cipla, Divis Laboratories, Ultratech Cement, Shree Cement, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance, Bajaj Finance, PowerGrid, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Nestle India contributed to the fall as the indices succumbed under weak global cues.

Coal India, HDFC Ltd, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, L&T, Axis Bank, State Bank, Kotak Bank, Dr Reddy's, HDFC Bank and Maruti provided much needed support to the barometer indices in falling market.
Nifty midcap and small cap indices ended around 1 per cent lower as all broader market indices ended in the red. Realty, oil & gas, Pharma, media declined the most, while banking and financial shares settled with marginal gains.
