BSE Small-cap hit new record high intraday today, majority of stocks end over 10% at close
Hitting a new life high at 25809.26 level intraday today, the majority of scrips in the BSE Small-Cap Index closed session with around 10 per cent gain today. Out of 30 scrips, 20 advanced with each rising 10 per cent and 10 declined with each falling over 5 per cent at the market end today.

Hitting a new life high at 25809.26 level intraday today, the majority of scrips in the BSE Small-Cap Index closed session with around 10 per cent gain today. Out of 30 scrips, 20 advanced with each rising 10 per cent and 10 declined with each falling over 5 per cent at the market end today.
A strong rally in telecom, agrochemicals, fertilizers, chemicals, information technology (IT), textiles and pharmaceutical stocks was visible, as the index closed 0.78 per cent higher to 25765.73 levels, as compared to a 0.75 per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex and a 0.35 per cent gain in the S&P BSE MidCap index on Monday.
In the past month, the SmallCap index has outperformed the Sensex and Mid-Cap Index by surging 6.4 per cent, as against the benchmark Sensex and the Mid-Cap indices gained 1.4 per cent and 0.28 per cent, respectively.
Individually, HFCL, Apex Frozen Foods, Subex, KRBL, Avanti, OnMobile Global, surged between 15-20 per cent, while Zuari Agro Chemicals, Grauer & Weil (India), Jindal Worldwide, Accelya Solutions India, Newgen Software Technologies, Water Base, each soared between 11-15 per cent and TARC, DB Corp, Shalby, Vindhyatel, Gokex, TVSelect, and IFCI grew between 10-9 per cent at close today.
Meanwhile, a total of 32 stocks including Route Mobile, TTK Prestige, Tata Elxsi, Tata Coffee, Tata Communications, PNC Infratech, CCL Products, Action Construction Equipment, Dollar Industries and JK Paper hit their respective record highs today.
For instance, Shree Renuka Sugars shares spurted 177 per cent in a month. The company recently said its board has approved the capacity expansion of ethanol production after the government-mandated 20 per cent ethanol blending in fuel by 2025 against a current blending of 7.79 per cent.
HFCL, on the other hand, surged 20 per cent in the intra-day trade today, having zoomed 87 per cent in the past month. A sharp rally in the stock price has seen the market capitalisation of HFCL vault past the Rs 10,000 crore mark today.
