Shah says, domestic companies such as Gujarat Alkalies, Hindustan Organic Chemicals have made a request to the government to continue the anti-dumping duty norms on hydrogen peroxide, which is supposed to expire in 2022. The anti-dumping duty was earlier imposed in June 2017 for five years.

With the expiry of this anti-dumping duty on import of hydrogen peroxide, it will be difficult for the domestic players to maintain their business smoothly, Shah tells to the managing editor.
The shares of Gujarat Alkalies Chemical jumped over 4 per cent to Rs 517 per share, while the HOCL shares soared over 10 per cent to 43.1 per share on the BSE intraday trade on Tuesday.

The former is trading over 2.5 per cent to Rs 508.5 apiece, while latter up over 3 per cent to Rs 43.25 per share on the BSE as compared to 0.41 per cent rise in the BSE Sensex at around 11:00 am today.
Gujarat Alkalies stock has jumped almost 15 per cent in the last two sessions, while HOCL soared over 34 per cent in the last five sessions on the BSE. The former has hit a 52-week high of Rs 523 per share on August 4, 2021, while the latter touched Rs 47.9 per share 52-week high on June 8, 2021.
The government has also issued an official notification to increase the anti-dumping duty time on stainless steel seamless tubes, pipes as well as La Opala glasses on the request of domestic companies for smooth business and less competition.
