Earlier, benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex closed with marginal cuts of around 0.3% on Tuesday. Extending losses for the third day, the broader Nifty50 ended near 15,700 and the 30-share Sensex settled near 52,700 as wholesale price-based inflation witnessed huge spike in year-on-year at 15.88 per cent for May due to rising prices of food items and crude oil. The WPI inflation stood at 15.08 per cent in April and 13.11 per cent in May last year.
