Stock Market HIGHLIGHTS: Bulls show might in final trade as Sensex, Nifty break 3-day losing streak
Stock Market Today HIGHLIGHTS: Bulls took over the reins of the street in the last hour as frontline indices ended their three-day losing streak. BSE Sensex closed at 61,418.96, up 274.12 points or 0.45 per cent while the Nifty50 settled at 18,244.20, up 84.25 points or 0.46 per cent from the Monday closing. Bank Nifty finished at 42,457.05 , higher by Rs 110.50 or 0.26 per cent.
Here are top highlights of the day's action:
1) In Nifty50 index, 36 stocks advanced while 14 declined. The top gainers on the 50-stock Nifty50 were Indusind Bank, NTPC, JSW Steel, HDFC Life and Ultratech Cement Company while top losers were BPCL, Nestle India, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid and ONGC.
2) Out of the 15 Nifty sectoral indices, 14 were gainers at the day's end with lone loser in Nifty Realty. The overall market momentum was on account of strong rally in Nifty PSU Bank Index (+1.66 per cent) which continued its upward momentum. Nifty IT (+0.81 per cent) and Nifty Metal (+0.89 per cent) were other major gainers.
3) There was stock specific action in broader markets with Nifty Mid Cap 100 ending at 31,070 up 0.55 per cent with 63 advances and 37 declines. Varun Beverages and Bank of India were top gainers in this segment while PB Fintech which fell nearly 3 per cent was the top loser. Meanwhile, Nifty Small Cap 100 ended with marginal gains at 9,639.70 drageed by 54 stocks which lost against 45 gainers. Easy My Trip ended with gains of 17 per cent while Maharashtra Bank was top loser and fell over 3 per cent.
4) Vedanta announced third interim dividend of Rs 17.50 per share after market hours. The stock ended at Rs 310.25 on the NSE, up 0.76 per cent.
5) Kaynes Technology stock which was listed today at a premium of 30 per cent, shed some of its listing gains to end 16 per cent higher from the issue price. The stock ended at Rs 685.25 against the issue price of Rs 587.
6) India VIX, a measure of volatility in Nifty stood at 13.84, down 6.45 per cent from the Monday closing level.
7) On BSE, out of the 3,608 stocks that traded today, advances were 1,636 and declines were 1,809 while 163 stocks remained unchanged. 121 stocks hit their 52-wek highs while 82 hit their 52-week lows.
8) The rupee appreciated by 12 paise to close at 81.67 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday, as the American currency retreated from its elevated levels. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit opened at 81.72 and touched an intra-day high of 81.64 and a low of 81.83 against the greenback. The local unit finally settled at 81.67, registering a rise of 12 paise over its previous close. On Monday, the rupee depreciated by 5 paise to close at 81.79 against the US dollar. PTI
9) Singapore-based SGX Nifty, an early indicator of Nifty movement was trading at 18,296, up 91 points or 0.50 per cent shedding losses in the early trade while Dow Futures were trading at 33,774.30, up 74 points or 0.08 per cent around this time.
10) In commodity markets, December MCX Gold Futures were trading at Rs 52440 per 10 gram at 4:05 pm and were up Rs 148 or 0.28 per cent. The December Silver Futures were trading at Rs 61300, up Rs 665 or 1.10 per cent.

Vedanta Dividend News:
Metal major Vedanta Limited has announced to pay dividend to its shareholders. This would be the third interim dividend by Vedanta for the financial year 2022-23. According to an exchange filing by Vedanta, its board of directors met today, November 22, to finalise the dividend.
According to an exchange filing by Vedanta, the Mumbai headquartered company will pay 1750 per cent dividend to its shareholder shaving face value of Re 1 each.

"We wish to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company through resolution passed by circulation on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 have approved Third Interim Dividend of Rs 17.50 per equity share i.e. 1750% on face value of Re. 1/- per share for the Financial Year 2022-23," the company said in a BSE filing.
Stocks in News: Nykaa Share
Nykaa shares fell over 4 per cent on NSE on news of block deal and were trading at Rs 175.95. Lighthouse India, which held 2.04 per cent stake in the company, today sold around 1.8 crore shares in the company. The stock is still trading at a high PE multiple of 100.
After the end of lock-in period on November 10, 67 per cent holding got open for trading.

Asian Markets at a Glance
Asian frontline indices traded mix with Nikkei 225 trading closing with nearly 170-points or 0.61 per cent gains at 28,115.70 while China's Shanghai Composite settled at 3,108.30, up 1.37 points or 0.04 per cent. Hang Seng was trading at 17,394.78, down 261 points or 1.48 per cent. The decline was on China Covid-19 lockdowns.
Broader Market Action Today
There was stock specific action in broader markets as well with Nifty Small Cap 100 trading flat 9,643.70, up 6.80 points only. In the 100-share index 49 shares gained while 48 declined and one stock remained unchanged. Ease My Trip was the top gainer with 12 per cent uptick while Maharashtra Bank was the top loser with 3.30 per cent losses.
