Energy stocks were in action on Wednesday after a committee headed by Kirit Parekh submitted its recommendations to the governent on gas pricing formula. In chat with Zee Business, Parekh said that ther are 12-13 types of gas fields in India and prices are different for different fields. The committee has simplified the pricing formula. He said that the main probelm was with respect to APM gas (Administerd Price Mechanism) which were being produced by ONGC and OIL from their fields. The fields were allocated without any royalty and profit sharing. India GDP Numbers today
“We expect 2QFY23 GDP growth at 6.2%. While this is much lower than 1QFY23 growth of 13.5%, much of it is due to difference in base effects. Contact-based services had continued to improve in 2QFY23 and festive season demand would have had a positive impact. Corporate earnings growth have been broadly in line with expectations which should support the GDP growth at around 6% level in 2QFY23,” Suvodeep Rakshit, Senior Economist, Kotak Institutional Equities said.
