Market HIGHLIGHTS: Bears rule street as Sensex, Nifty end negative on Wednesday; auto, realty, metals drag frontline indices
Stock Market HIGHLIGHTS: Bears ruled Dalal Street on Wednesday as frontline indices managed a negative closing after a one-day break on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday. Domestic equity markets pared their opening gains dragged by auto, metal and pharma stocks. BSE Sensex ended at 61,033.55, down 151.60 points or 0.25 per cent while Nifty50 closed with a loss of 45 points at 18,157. It was down by 0.25 per cent from the Monday closing level.
Highlights:
1) In the 30-stock index, only 8 ended with gains against 22 losers. ITC, Indusind Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top gainers while Power Grid, Tech Mahindra and Sun Pharma were top losers. Meanwhile, in the 50-share Nifty50 index, 14 advanced and 36 declined. The biggest gainers included Coal India, ITC and Hero MotoCorp while the biggest losers were Hindalco, Power Grid and Divi's Laboratories.

2) PSU Bank stocks continued their strong momentum from Monday making Nifty PSU Bank as the clear winner in the day's trade. Apart from it, Nifty Bank and Nifty FMCG managed a green ending. The worst performers in the 15 Nifty Sectoral indices were Nifty Realty (- 1.45 per cent), Nifty Pharma (-1.13 per cent) and Nifty Healthcare Index (-1.22 per cent).
3) Bank Nifty hit its life time high of 41,948.90.
4) Even the broader market stocks were punished with NIFTY MIDCAP 100 closing with declines of 0.83 per cent at 31,697. Nifty Small Cap 100 settled at 9,779.95, down 0.57 per cent.
5) Out of 3,634 stocks that were trading on the BSE, advances were 1,732 while declines stood at 1,788. 114 stocks remained unchanged. 188 stocks hit their 52-week highs while 28 hit their 52 week lows. 290 stocks hit upper circuit while 145 hit 52-week lows.
6) India VIX, a measure of volatility in the stock markets stood at 15.95, which was up 2.32 per cent from Monday.
7) Rupee traded strongly against the US Dollar and was at its 7-month peak breaching the 81-mark against the green back. USDINR November Futures were trading at 81.6100 on the BSE, down by 0.4450 or 0.54 per cent.
8) MCX December Gold futures were trading with negative bias at Rs 51386 per 10 gram and were down by Rs 244 or 0.47 per cent. December Silver futures were trading at Rs 61489 per kg, down by Rs 470 or 0.76 per cent arond 4:10 pm.

3M India Dividend Stock, 3M India Share Price NSE: 3M India Limited, an Indian Subsidiary of US-based 3M Company, on Wednesday announced an interim special dividend of Rs 850 per share.
Godrej Properties shares fell sharply after the company announced weak September quarter results. The shares were trading at Rs 1,197.80, down by Rs 62.45 or nearly 5 per cent in the intraday trade. The reults were announced during market hours.
Realty firm Godrej Properties on Wednesday reported a 54 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 54.96 crore for the second quarter ended September on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 35.73 crore in the year-ago period.
Its total income also rose to Rs 369.20 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal from Rs 334.22 crore a year ago, according to a regulatory filing.
On Tuesday, Godrej Properties Ltd said it has acquired 12 acres of land in Pune for the development of a housing project that has an estimated sales revenue potential of about Rs 2,000 crore.
Godrej Properties, which is part of the business conglomerate Godrej Group, is one of the leading real estate developers in the country. PTI

Sell USDINR AT 81.70 with a stop loss of 82.10 and price target of 81.30, commodity and currency expert Anuj Gupta says. The 28 November USDINR futures were trading at 81.4825, down by 0.5775 or 0.70 per cent from the last closing price.

Gold looks more appealing in a scenario of a weaker dollar and lower Treasury yields, Deveya Gaglani, Research Analyst, Axis Securities said ading that the overall, recessionary concerns, the US midterm election result, and concerns over US economic confidence data cemented the case of a lower terminal rate hike by Fed, which served as a key positive catalyst for Gold.
Now the focus will be on CPI data, which is due on Thursday, she said adding that elsewhere, investors are closely tracking policy signals from China on whether it is considering dialing back its zero-Covid policy.
China is the world’s second-largest market for gold jewelry next to India. Presently, Gold is trying to settle above USD 1720. In case the attempt is successful, Gold may rally towards USD 1750 / USD1780 by this week, she further said.

- Nifty Metal was the biggest loser, down 0.44 per cent followed ny Nifty Consumer durables (-0.24 per cent). Nifty auto and Nifty media were trading with minor losses.
