World Hypertension Day: India is a country with a large number of high blood pressure victims. But the point is half of the victims of high blood pressure in India don't know that they have become victims of this disease. This has been revealed in the recently published National Family Health Survey of India.
High blood pressure becomes the gateway to many diseases, but the most dangerous attack on the heart. It does not give any warning and is usually detected when a heart attack has happened or is about to happen. But wait! On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, we have not come to give you tension. In fact, Zee Business tells you how to control BP.
According to international standards, 80-120 is considered correct BP, but doctors also allow it to be 10 points up-down. If the blood pressure continues to be above 140, then it is considered to be a dangerous sign.
Hypertension is a disease that affects the heart, kidneys, and brain. The biggest reason for hypertension is obesity – a waist more than 35 inches in women and more than 40 inches in men is a danger bell.
The second reason for high BP is consuming more salt. According to the World Health Organization, not more than 5 grams of salt should be eaten daily. But the pickles, chutney, papads, and packaged snacks present in Indian food are loaded with more salt than necessary. Even salt is used in the process of making sweet snacks. Apart from this, stress, alcohol and smoking, and not exercising also increase blood pressure.
Do you know! Once blood pressure medicines are started, it is necessary to take them regularly. Not taking medicine can be even more dangerous. If blood pressure medicines are missed repeatedly, then there is a risk of stroke ie paralysis, or bleeding from the brain.
However, some people with high blood pressure, whose disease is not yet out of control – can be permanently free from both disease and medication by making lifestyle changes. These includes:
-5 days a week walk or workout
-Eat less salt, so much so that the food looks dull.
-Better eating habits – ie less roti rice and more fruits and vegetables
-Abstinence from alcohol and smoking
-Weight control
Note: After the age of 30, doctors recommend keeping a BP monitor at home, so that you can check BP yourself from time to time.
By reducing salt in food, blood pressure can come down by 10 mm, do light exercise daily and control your weight, then with these three things, you will be able to keep blood pressure under control naturally. But if these methods are adopted before increasing BP, then the results will be better.
