Here are things you can do to make your Diwali reasonable and sustainable

Sustainable Fashion
The concept of sustainable fashion has gained traction over the years. From influencers to celebrities everyone is talking about it. Sustainable fashion refers to garments and accessories that are produced and/or accessed in an ecologically and socially responsible manner. There are many online sites and even physical stores which sell sustainable clothes. Some brands provide sustainable clothing starting at range Rs 1000 onwards.

Eco- friendly lights
Diwali is a festival of lights, so, while buying the lighting make sure you use reusable lights. LEDs are said to be a great option. There are many options available online and offline starting at Rs 900 -- here Rs 900 is a one-time investment and those lights can be used for at least five years if stored safely.

Environment friendly decoration
Many have started using organic colours for Holi so why should Diwali be an exception? Opt for organic colours and real flowers for rangoli instead of plastic flowers and toxic colours. Don’t stop just at rangoli and think green when it comes to choosing idols for puja as well. Start buying idols made of only clay and mud. Finally, instead of single-use non-recyclable decorations like plastic glitters, balloons and fairy lights, opt for eco-friendly diyas.

Go Green while Gifting
Gifts are sentimental and people give a lot of thought before giving someone a present. While gifting make sure that the gift can be reused and recycled. There are many websites and offline stores which provide a huge variety of options in a reasonable range. Also while gifting make sure the gift wrapping sheet is not made of plastic material or any other material that may harm the environment.
