Telangana Medical Recruitment 2021: State aims to recruit 50000 MBBS students amid covid surge - check how to apply here
As the coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in the country, the Telangana government has decided to rope in 50,000 MBBS students to treat covid patients in the state. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced this decision after a covid-related review meeting on Sunday.
Urging the young doctors to come forward during these difficult times, the chief minister has directed the officials to invite applications from thousands of medical students and said that they would be awarded weightage marks in the state government jobs in the future.
To mitigate the burden on medical and health staff in the state amid the covid crisis, these medical students would be mostly hired for two to three months, one of the officials said.
KCR government has instructed the medical and health officers to recruit doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, and other paramedical staff immediately on a temporary basis to utilise their services for the covid treatment.
Moreover, the state government also assured that the temporary employees would be paid respectable salaries. The eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal of the Department of Health, Medical & Family welfare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 3 had announced to recruit medical interns and students for the treatment and assistance of covid patients in the country. He had also promised a government job for all the medical students if they work for 100 years in this fight against covid.
