National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous Scientific Society of Ministry of Electronics and IT, has sought application for the posts of Scientist and Scientific Assistant.
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous Scientific Society of Ministry of Electronics and IT, has sought application for the posts of Scientist and Scientific Assistant. There are 10 vacancies for Scientist (B) and 39 openings for Scientific Assistant (A). As many as 6 candidates will be selected from Un-reserved (UR) category, 1 economically weaker section (EWS) and 3 other backward castes (OBC) under Group A selection for Scientist (B)posts. Similarly, 24 candidates from UR, 3 from EWS, 2 from SC and 10 from OBC will be recruited under Group B Scientific Assistant (A) posts.
Closing date for receipt of the application is December 31. The candidates applying for these posts should not cross the age of 30 years on closing date of the application. Candidates will be selected on the basis of written exam, which will be followed by an interview.
Both of these posts offer a whopping salary.
Scientist ‘B’ GROUP –A salary: Level - 10, (Rs.56100- 177500)
Scientific Assistant ‘A’ GROUP –B salary: Level - 6, (Rs 35400- 112400)

M.Sc. in Electronics / Computer Science OR Master of Computer Application (MCA) OR Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) B-Level OR M.E./ M.Tech/ B.E / B. Tech/ Associate Member of Institute of Engineers (AMIE) / Graduate Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (G-IETE) in any of following streams :
Electronics / Electronics & Communications / Computer Science / Communication/ Computer & Networking Security/ Computer Application /Software System/ Information Technology/ Information Technology Management/ Industrial Electronics / Instrumentation/ Electronics & Instrumentation / Power Electronics

M.Sc. in Electronics/Applied Electronics/Physics/Computer Science/IT OR M.S. in any one or in combination of following Electronics/ Electronics & Communications /Electronics & Telecommunications/Computer Science/ Computer & Networking Security/ Software System/ Information Technology/Geographical Information System (GIS)/Electrical/Design/Informatics/ Computer Management/ Computational Linguistics OR Master of Computer Application (MCA) OR 4.B.E / B. Tech in any one or in combination of following Electronics/ Electronics & Communications /Electronics & Telecommunications/Computer Science/ Computer & Networking Security/Software System/Information Technology/Geographical Information System (GIS)/Electrical/Design/Informatics/ Computer Management/ Computational Linguistics.
Age limit: The upper age limit in respect of SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Disabilities and other special categories of persons shall be relaxable as per Govt. Rules and Orders issued from time to time.
How to apply
Candidates can apply online at https://apply-delhi.nielit.gov.in between 02.12.2020 (11:30 a.m) and 31.12.2020 (5:30 pm). No other means/mode of application will be accepted. Candidates are required to have valid e-mail identification and active mobile number. The procedure/steps for filling up of applications online is available at https://apply-delhi.nielit.gov under ‘Instructions for filling Application‟ on the main Page.
Application fee: SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates Rs 400
General and all others: Rs 800
Exam pattern: The Written Examination will be Objective type (OMR based) consisting of questions from Technical and Generic Area. The duration of written test will be 3 hours. There will be total of 120 objective type Questions consisting of 65% questions from Technical Area of respective stream and 35% questions from Generic Area. Every Question will carry 1 (one) mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. The cut-off marks for qualifying the written examination will be 50% for General and EWS Category candidates, 40% for OBC candidates and 30% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Choice of centre for written examinations and Interview: Candidates shall indicate their choice for Centre for Written Examination from the cities listed below. No change of Centre will be permissible at a later date. NIELIT, however, reserves the right to direct the candidate to appear for Written Test at any location irrespective of his indicated choice depending upon the number of applications received and the administrative convenience—1) Agartala 2) Bangalore 3) Calicut 4) Chennai 5) Delhi 6) Guwahati 7) Hyderabad 8) Jaipur 9) Jammu 10) Kolkata (11) Lucknow (12) Mumbai
