Bajaj Auto has announced a slew of measures to help its employees in these tough times amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The automaker has said that it will provide monetary support to the families of its employees for up to two years in case of death due to Covid-19.

The other slew of measures announced by the company on Thursday, May 13, is to support the dependent children's education till graduation in any field of their choice and 5-year hospitalisation insurance for all family members of the deceased employee.

Among other steps taken by the company amid the second wave, the company has announced the up-gradation of the Covid-19 care centre at Aurangabad.

A total of Rs 300 crore has been committed by Bajaj Group so far to help various governments, local administration, and NGO initiatives. The company has also promised the procurement of 12 oxygen plants and several other respiratory support equipment.  

The automaker is also offering tests and treatments at its multiple Covid care facilities, all equipped with professional medical care and 24X7 monitoring.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto said “We shall do our utmost for any extended families of Bajaj Auto who might be devastated by the loss of their loved ones who went beyond the call of duty in the face of this pandemic.”

As per the latest information, India has reported 3.43 lakh new coronavirus cases on Thursday, and 4,000 deaths. The country’s total caseload now stands at 2,40,46,809 and includes 37,04,893 active cases, 2,00,79,599 recoveries and 2,62,317 deaths.
