As per the UPSC notification, as many as 6 seats have been fixed for Unreserved Category candidates, while 3 is for OBC and 1 for EWS category candidates.

Nature of post and 7th CPC pay scale

UPSC Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) post is permanent and Group A job (non-ministerial). Candidates who will be selected as Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) post will be offered salary in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Group ‘A’, Non-Ministerial. A Level 10 employee under 7th CPC Pay matrix is given salary in the range of Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500. Apart from this, the appointee will be given seventh pay commission perks like Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances.

Age limit: Maximum age limit for this job is 35 years. Candidates belonging to different categories will be given relaxation in the job as per government and UPSC norms.
Education qualification and experience: Candidate applying for this post must have B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. Three years-experience in planning, construction and execution of Civil Engineering Projects.  

Expected duties: They will be overall in-charge of civil sub-division, responsible for checking of running accounts, prepare plan, design, detailed estimate for projects, scrutiny of same before submission to higher authority, maintain records regarding initial accounts, responsible for clearance works accounts, all outstanding/recovery in cases advance value of store sold.
