Department of Energy of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has invited application for the post of Junior Engineer (trainee) under E&M cadre. UPPCL aims to fill about 212 vacancies, including 191 Junior Engineer (trainee electrical) and 21 Junior Engineer (trainee electronics) under this recruitment drive.

Online application will begin from December 4 and will continue till December 28. However, last date to apply offline for these posts is December 30.
The candidates selected for these posts will paid salary up to Rs 44,900 as per the 7th pay Commission.  

Selection criteria and test pattern
The candidates will be selected on the basis of Computer Based Test (CBT). Online exam will be conducted at different centres of Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Noida, Meerut, and Greater Noida. The test will be of 200 marks and will have maximum questions from diploma level engineering syllabus and general awareness. There will also be questions form reasoning and aptitude and from Hindi.

Age limit
Age of Candidates should not be less than 18 years and exceed 40 years as January 1 2020. Those belonging to ST SC and OBC categories of Uttar Pradesh will be given 5 years relaxation in upper age limit while persons with disabilities will be given 15 years of relaxation in upper age limit.

Qualification
The candidates applying for the post of Junior Engineer (trainee electrical) must have a 3-year diploma in electrical engineering by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education or diploma recognised by the state government. All India diploma in electrical engineering conducted by AICTE or diploma in electrical engineering from any Indian University will also be considered.
Diploma in electronics and telecommunication engineering by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education or diploma recognised by the state government is essential for the post of Junior Engineering (trainee electronics/ telecommunication). Also, three years diploma from all India diploma in electrical engineering conducted by AICTE or diploma in electrical engineering from any Indian University will be considered as well.

Application fee:
Candidates belonging to Unreserved/general and OBC categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs1000. SC ST candidates will have to pay Rs 700, while those with disabilities need to pay only processing charge of Rs 10. The candidates of other states will have to pay Rs 1,000 irrespective of categories.
